The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence also known as NICE has recently published its guidelines to clinicians for dealing with Tension Headaches and Migraine.
In a situation were medication has failed to help an individual sufferer NICE has suggested that a course of 10 acupuncture treatments over a period of 5 to 8 weeks should be considered. This advice is applicable for both Tension Headaches and Migraine

The link above will take you to a recent article published by the Mail Online. It is good to see a well balanced article on the subject of acupuncture. Within the article both acupuncturists and medical professionals give their views on what conditions and ailments they believe acupuncture works for, what they believe it doesn't work for and what they believe is still to be proved.
Importantly people who suffer from chronic pain, headaches, migraine and nausea and have received acupuncture treatment believe that it does work and it has helped them with their symptoms.
